JUNE 1st, and Jean Stapleton's death is announced on WIKIPEDIA. Did she die of natural causes?
Guess this will change eventually.
Unless...Stapleton's death had something to do with a violently horny Rob Reiner? The ultimate withering result of a secret diseased encounter with Liberace who was attempting to go straight? Worse?
Wikipedia, you'll remember, screamed along with Google and Kim Dotcom over any regulation that would involve copyright, culpability, having to answer a DMCA promptly, or be accessible and accountable to anyone for anything.
So this is the shit that happens.
I do remember Wikipedia quickly pulling an obit on Angela Lansbury a few months ago...she ain't dead. But why should it have been on their site in the first place? Some asshole over there was too busy putting up "DONATE TO US" banners? "Free Internet" banners?
That's the Internet. Print rumors. Doctor up photos. Make outrageous typos. Eventually somebody will leave a comment or clean up the mess.
There was a time when you bought a newspaper.
You had proofreaders and fact checkers making sure what you bought was worth buying.
What you get for free? It can be worth LESS than nothing.
