DIANA NYAD: NO PAIN NO GAIN WITHOUT EXCRUCIATING NEIL YOUNG

Nothing will keep you awake like the voice of Neil Young.

People are asking: HOW COULD A 64 YEAR-OLD WOMAN swim for over TWO DAYS, no sleep, no shark cage, from Cuba to Florida? Answer: She was kept awake by the sting of jellyfish and Neil Young's voice in her head! Stroke after stroke, those profoundly inane lyrics and simple-minded rhymes:

Hello cowgirl in the sand is this place at your command? Can I stay here for a while? Can I see your sweet sweet smile?

Round and round and round we spin,to weave a wall to hem us in! How the hours will bend through the time that you spend...and you see your best friend looking over the end!

Only love can break your heart. Try to be sure right from the start.

There was once a big fat Dutch douche who wondered, "Woot will ah doooo, when I yam seexty-fo-urrrr?" He figured the best way to make use of the time he had left was to give away every Neil Young album to get "nice comments" on a blog. What an achievement. A witless thief. At 64, Diana Nyad made history. NOBODY, man or woman, of any age, did what she did last week.

And you know why. She wanted meaning in her life. She had talent and skill. And most of all, she had the guts and determination to keep playing NEIL YOUNG SONGS in her head to raise her blood pressure and adrenaline to an incredible level of rage.
