Ebay "We're Just a Venue...." for people to STEAL CHEAT AND SWINDLE

Duhhhh.

There's a page on eBay that says that it's against the rules to made a CD of photos of a star that you downloaded off the Internet.

So, maybe if it's NOT ALLOWED to sell "a CD containing pictures of a singer taken from various sources..."

But here's a seller who home-made a CD full of photos he downloaded and/or scanned, AND "video" clips he stole from copyrighted movies.

Uh. Uh.

He's got a 100 such auctions. Will EBAY abide by its own rules and REMOVE THIS ITEM and the 99 others this jerk put up for his penny-ante weasel games?

Not so fast. EBAY says it's NOT ALLOWED but, uh. uh. There's WIGGLE ROOM.

"It may be removed" isn't "it will be removed."

Uh. Uh.

You can't post a CD containing pictures of a singer...or an "unauthorized t-shirt with the name of a celebrity on it..."

Uh. Uh.

"AHHHHH!" says eBay, "we're just a venue, and WE can't be sure if an item is authorized or not. So you can't post a CD full of stolen photos BUT...how do WE know it's stolen photos?"

"Noooooooo, don't ask US to demand that a seller say "authorized," in the ad. Don't ask US to demand that the seller show us a licensing agreement when an auction has been reported."

AHHHHH, "we're not going to ask a seller how he got 100 CDs on 100 different celebrities, and why his shit isn't available on Amazon which has slightly more morality than we do. No no no. We'll say that it's up to Lucy Liu and the other 99 celebrities to complain. And if 5 or 10 actually DO, we will pretend that the seller PROBABLY has the right to post the 90 remaining auctions. Because we're JUST A VENUE protected by the DIGITAL MILLENIUM ACT."

See, that's part of why the MILLENIALS are such obnoxious shits. They get the idea that the Internet is a playground, and "freedom of speech" or cries of "public domain" or "fair use" or "copyright remains with the holder" absolves them. And EBAY is one of the places that promotes such ideas.

Think this auction will be removed?
