This Irving Azoff guy got his name in the papers. Now people know of yet another rich Jew in the music biz complaining that he doesn't have enough money in his pocket. Nice, Irv.
Along with Irving came Yoko The Jap. As far as media readers were concerned, there was NO REASON TO FEEL SYMPATHY. Despite Lennon's millions, she was bitching about not having enough money in the bank.
What they and a legion of lazy millionaires (who signed a petition) did, was to grunt, "Hey, YouTube is making money off us, DMCA laws have to change."
AND? Did Irv or Yoko camp out in front of New York Senator Schumer's door? NOPE. Did they talk to the Senator from Vermont, Leahy, who tried to push SOPA through but failed? NOPE.
What was accomplished??
Nothing.
To the average reader, Yoko or Springsteen or a rich Jew lawyer or businessman wanting a cut from Google, meant NOTHING.
What Irving and Yoko could've done was point out all the struggling NEW musicians who can't make a living, or the suicides of 60-somethings who were living in poverty and not getting that extra royalty check they needed to go with social security.
What's going on with GOOTUBE isn't just that assholes make juke boxes out of Rolling Stones or Beatles songs...which are instantly removed because Web Sheriff and Grayzone are PAID to do the work that the RIAA won't do.
The big problem is that assholes on GOOTUBE are giving away EVERYTHING, and the average obscure 60's or 70's performer has no idea how to get a takedown. Record stores that could make a living selling the old vinyl go under. Itunes and CD-reissue labels can't make money because people know how to get it FREE.
THAT is the main problem here, not that Irving and Yoko can't buy the most expensive bottle of wine when they go to the Russian Tea Room.
Yeah, DMCA laws are weak, but they EXIST, and aside from blatant dickwads like Pirate Bay, Kickass and Zinfart and Chris-Sucks-Cock, most violations CAN be eliminated.
No. Instead of working on passing legislation AND filing takedowns, almost NO TAKEDOWNS are being filed.
While attrition has removed some of the more obnoxious rats in the Blogosphere, there are still hundreds of assholes on Google's BLOGSPOT, illiterately "sharing" music they do not own.
Somehow, foreign fuckwads who barely know the language know how to up files. Well, mostly.
While some Mongoloid retards have trouble, many more don't. They blithely up their shit every fucking day. Some of them pretend to be loyal Communists who happen to believe that what THEY do is worth money but what MUSICIANS do "should be given away FREE."
Actually, these loyal Communists are usually retired, "on the government teat," and have nothing better to do. They want FAME. They want ATTENTION. They do it by stealing the music and finding some fucking excuse for giving it away as they take a bow for it.
Then there are the not-so-subtle Capitalists who want to be paid for their "hard work." After all, they "RIPPED" files. Here's an example:
THIS guy wants you to buy his fucking DVD of stolen, copyrighted music. Copyright is COPY WRONG, har har har, because HE wants to make some money. HE pretends he's in the music biz. HE wants "nice comments." HE and various other old pests like him, keep right on finding new blogs and sneaking more shit even after they've been caught time and again. GOOGLE gives 'em NEW BLOGS or simply doesn't bother to chuck the current ones.
WHY? Because, IRVING, and YOKO, there ARE DMCA LAWS ON THE BOOKS and YOU TWO and your fucking RIAA and the rest of the jerks (ASCAP, BMI, whoever) WILL NOT FILE.
It's a big deal if the RIAA or BPI or IFPI bother to take down even a FEW blogs. They whine that they somehow (despite paying themselves very well and having immaculate GIGANTIC offices in prime city locations) don't have the staff or the money to bother.
They also won't let interns do it, or deputize anyone to volunteer some time.
So, what's your excuse Irv? How about it Yoko? You think it's enough to call your publicists and get your names in the paper crying that laws should be strengthened?
As Bob Dylan would tell you, "strengthen the things that remain," which means, FILE the fucking DMCA takedowns while you lobby for better laws to shut down or block entire foreign websites, and force big Internet bullies like Google, Amazon and Ebay to police themselves.
