Maybe he should WRITE instead of SING

Now and then, our 80-something, or whatever he is, actually WRITES about what he sings.

Put it this way, his writing is a lot more entertaining.

At this point I wouldn't want to hear HIS version of most ANYTHING, but I did actually read this whole thing.

PS, even the fabulous FRANK is not somebody I want to listen to all that often.

IF I'M BEING HONEST, a lot of "The Great American Songbook" is schlock. It's just old pop tunes that aren't popular anymore, and for good reason. "You Do Something To Me" does NOTHING to me. As for THIS rather trite number, a once famous comedian/bastard had a line about it on an album circa 1960: "Vernon Duke wrote a song, "Autumn in New York," but he obviously hadn't spent the preceding summer there."
