In the old days "Le Sex Shop" was in a seedy part of town. The windows were black or just a garish neon sign with no toys, magazines or other stuff in the window.
The idea was that if you wanted lurid stuff, you had to go hunt for it (which was part of the thrill) and kids could not get into the store or even see anything hot in the window.
Now? Hey kids, to go eBay type in some words and see this!
And ask Mommy about THIS.
Many eBay sellers of this shit (almost ALL of them from CHINA, low-pricing American sex sellers) use as many sex words as they can. Breasts Bondage Sex Boob Adult. Whatever. They no speak-ee English too well but they know the words that SELL.
Even with shipping charges, China is destroying the economy by mass-producing stuff via child labor and selling it by mail.
Back to the perversion.
What if you DO NOT want your 14 year-old seeing ADULT stuff?
Shouldn't eBay be keeping this in their ADULT section?
No, eBay doesn't consider this stuff ADULT/SEXUAL. Their category "Sexual Wellness" is right out there for anyone to find, and auctions of sex shop adults only items are PERMITTED there.
HOWEVER...
The above two items could be removed IF reported, because...LOCATION. LOCATION.
They were listed under "costumes."
They should be listed in the "sexual wellness" category, like THIS thing:
Technically "sexual wellness" should be for the sale of embarrassing items like vaginal itch creme and condoms, which some people don't want to bring to the counter of a drug store.
BUT, eBay happily includes bondage and torture devices in the "sexual wellness" category.
Without much consistency, they don't consider bizarre bondage gear to be "costumes."
They also have an odd notion that people surf eBay by category. No, 95% DO NOT. But eBay figures someone surfing "costumes" or "costume reenactment" might get offended by seeing some strange sex item, and should be able to report it (if they notice the tiny "report this auction" link).
If a seller asks, "why did you stop my auction," the answer would be, "oh, re-list it in the "sexual wellness" category."
So the shocking item is once again visible to anyone typing in Breasts, Bondage or other FUN WORDS.
Ebay Logic? EBAY and LOGIC are two words that don't usually go together. Unlike clamps and nipples.
