Mrs. Peel, You're Being Abused

We've seen the clip. Diana Rigg jokes to Cavett about how appearing on stage "without your knickers" is quite a daunting task. She also laughs about getting a letter from a rude "fan" who scolded, "my girlfriend's tits are bigger than yours, I don't see why you bother."

So she might just laugh at the fact that an infantile old bastard in Florida likes to fantasize about her having big ones:

She might even giggle at the inept asshole in Michigan who tries to pretend a much more obvious photo-fake he downloaded is REAL:

Will her manager just snort at this kerfuffle, and pour himself anotha cuppa?

Most likely.

But THIS time, with some extra time available, these two jerks may just find themselves suspended. Many more women on their list are being informed of the abuse, and MAYBE some will actually look at the pix. Or their managers or secretaries will, and "take the appropriate action."

Right now BOTH sellers are pretty fucking smug. They have BOTH gotten items removed, and received no suspensions, obviously. Ebay is happy to insist, "Just because two or three or five VeRO reps say these sellers have no permission, it doesn't mean the other 200 women didn't grant permission. Har har har. We're just a venue and we won't ask them!"

Just today yet another eBay employee with no power, who just answers the phone, admitted, "I had NO idea this was going on." Well, duh, how many women working at eBay spend their time surfing the porn area of the site? She added, "When there's a meeting, I will bring this up. You're right, there is no consent here. As a woman, I find this offensive."

Funny (not) that these days, most people don't find ANYTHING offensive. To use Mr. Burroughs' coy phrase, "All is permitted." As if it should be. Or as the rappers put it, "It's ALL good, yo."

At this moment, Gwyneth Paltrow and Brooke Shields are both in court, pleading with judges to keep stalkers away from them. Meanwhile on eBay, stalkers are encouraged to believe all their favorite actresses are sluts. Selling these images isn't an act of misogyny? It isn't done by creeps who think they're "getting even" by making nickels and dimes while degrading famous stars who are so far above them and so much more successful?

In olden days a glimpse of stocking was looked on as something shocking. Now, heaven knows...
