And...the STATUS will still be QUO

Nothing will stop Status Quo, not even the death of Rick Parfitt, OBE. Yes, he's one above a certain Barry Grooker who is only a CBE.

How you get an OBE for being in one of the most mediocre rock bands of all time, I don't know.

Parfitt and Rossi were the co-conspirators in the band, they wrote most of the songs, and decided what brand of coffee everybody drank. Rick is on the left.

As it's CHRISTMAS, let's note that the duo were on "Do They Know It's Christmas," AND, Parfitt joined the legendary ROLF HARRIS for "Christmas in the Sun." Status Quo also recorded "It's Christmas Time," their reminder that December is a SPECIAL month.

Rick, born in Woking, woke up from many a heart attack in his later years. With the help of Wikipedia, let's note:

"Following a heart attack, Parfitt had a quadruple heart bypass in 1997, when he was told by doctors that he could die "at any time" unless he changed his lifestyle...He had a throat cancer scare in December 2005...a heart attack in December 2011...was in hospital August 2014, while on a European tour with Status Quo...suffered a heart attack while on his tour bus after performing a concert in Austria, and told the Daily Mail he was pleased to have suffered another heart attack as it had forced him to stop smoking and drinking after 50 years...On 14 June 2016, after playing with the band in Antalya, Turkey, he suffered another heart attack and was clinically dead for several minutes, resulting in mild cognitive impairments. The band announced that their ongoing tour would continue with Freddie Edwards as a temporary replacement...."

Well, there's still Andy Bown, who I think has written with either Parfitt or Rossi or both, so there will be no shortage of new sound-alike songs. Sad to say, Andy's output with the band hasn't exactly produced anything as memorable as his solo work, but Status Quo does have a specific formula. They'll keep to it as they continue to play Europe as if they're Britain's best rock band.

No one is saying that Journey being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame added any stress to Rick's condition, but look at the timing.
