Bleacherreport as stupid as any Inquisitr Gawker on Alvarez-Kirkland

You know what I like about these fucking amateur news websites? NOTHING.

Any retard (excuse me, PRINCE OF AUTISM) can make himself the CEO of a shit-for-brains Internet company and start a fucking website. Call it BADLEFTHOOK or BLEACHERREPORT or be stupider and use INQUISITR or GAWKER or DAILY BEAST or BUZZFEED, and maybe you fool some jerks into putting ads on your site for counterfeit Ray-Bans.

But stealing clips or photos and running a few paragraphs of bad copy...does NOT make you a journalist.

Bleacherreport ran a stolen clip from HBO (just short enough that HBO isn't going to bother one of their $200-an-hour lawyers into writing a cease and desist), and a few dumbass lines about the Alvarez-Kirkland fight.

What fight was THIS autistic cretin watching? Or did this website just grab a blog entry or forum entry or a write-up from some other dummy and change a few words?

"Alvarez completely dominated James Kirkland..."

No. He did NOT.

This is an example of incompetent reporting. But the media does this all the time even on serious matters including murders, rape, political speeches, and everything else. It's all subjective. Nicki Minaj has been written up as "Beautiful" fer Chrissake.

What we expect from news sources is THE NEWS, not colored and perfumed interpretations and opinion.

Kirkland came out with tremendous determination and great faith in his punching power and his chin. He landed some shots that got Alvarez backing into the ropes. Alvarez looked surprised and overwhelmed. But if you want to go by facts, then check the "punch stats," which proved that Kirkland was LANDING PUNCHES. LOTS OF THEM.

After a surprising minute of action, it seemed as though Kirkland was going to win by an upset, and score an early KO. Alvarez, a good counter-puncher, then fired an uppercut that sent Kirkland to the deck.

Kirkland, who had once been knocked out in the first round by a light-hitting Japanese fighter, was in danger of a similar fate...another knockdown and then being counted out. But instead he fought hard and despite getting hit with several more good shots, he stayed on his feet. This was a 10-8 round but COMPETITIVE.

In the second round, Kirkland astonishingly took to the offensive yet again. Even the HBO announcers were in awe. They said that Kirkland was landing good shots and that Alvarez seemed like he might've "punched himself out." Kirkland was firing the punches, not Alvarez. Alvarez was on the ropes quite a bit, and was feeling some strong shots, and was lucky that nothing landed solid against him. He fought back and may have won the round, but it was COMPETITIVE. There was still a very good chance Kirkland could land a KO punch.

In the third, Kirkland again was forcing the action. He's known as a truly "hellacious" fighter who goes at it with "bad intent." (Sorry for the cliches, but they apply here). Whether he was doing it out of confidence or desperation we will likely never know, but he sure had his wits about him, and his fists were active.

Alvarez had to concentrate, cover up at times, and wait for a counter. With Kirkland's wide-open style, it wasn't too long before Alvarez fired an accurate shot and Kirkland went down again. James is known for getting knocked down in fights....and coming back to turn things around. That's why he's an exciting fighter. But before the third round ended, James once again left himself wide open for a picture-perfect shot to the jaw.

Three knockdowns. A KO in the 3rd round. On paper that might look like complete domination, but if you actually had eyes in your head, and a brain, you wrote "thrilling, competitive fight," doing a service to both fighters and to your profession. And if you have any boxing chops, you might point to past classics, like Hearns-Duran, as an example of a short but memorable fight that could've gone either way.

You read that shitty copy and you get the idea James Kirkland is some incompetent tomato can. Outrageous.

That's the trouble with the "media" today. There's too fucking much of it. EVERYBODY is an "expert" whether they can observe or not. These websites are often on the cheap, and some hack glances at a few photos or highlights and jumps at a false conclusion. Who's to say the brain-damaged fart-head behind this article even watched the fight? It would be just as easy to NOT listen to the new McCartney or Elton John album and pan it as "the same old thing." Chances are you'd be right. But ultimately that won't make you a Lester Bangs or even a Dave Marsh or Robert Christgau, and you won't have a reputation for being any kind of critic.

BLEACHERREPORT...yeah. The bleachers are located SO FAR AWAY FROM THE ACTION YOU CAN'T SEE WHAT'S GOING ON.
