They made "official" what we've known ever since the first monkey chittered "suck" and "fuck."
Say, remember that episode of "The Avengers" where a machine knocked out romance novels? When something is a formula, that formula can be duplicated over and over.
This article came from the MIT Technology Review...only I didn't GET it there.
MASHABLE stole it, re-printed it, and put the credit at the end. Perhaps they have a deal going with various lesser websites: "If we decide to steal your article, you'll get a penny per every 100 hits. It might not be much, but we'll add a hot link and MAYBE some people will come to your website, too."
Or maybe it's just the old "publish or perish" situation, where people write articles just for the "credit."
Either way, there's not much of a line between a computer knocking out rap garbage and a bot combing websites for articles to steal. Neither is very original.
