Yes, the world HAS gone mad.
This wasn't the assassination of Lennon.
A 69 year-old poseur with a fondness for make-up and bisexuality died. He hadn't been a force in the music world in THIRTY FUCKING YEARS. Unlike "Double Fantasy" nobody was buying or caring about Bowie's latest album.
If his "influence" was to give us monsters like Madonna and Marilyn Manson, they should be burning him in effigy.
For recording only enough hits you could count on the finger of ONE HAND, and for making a movie almost nobody saw, there's THIS level of hysteria? A mob night-vigil of singing awful songs? Statues of OTHER people defaced with Aladdin Sane make-up? Politicians in Germany declaring he helped bring down The Berlin Wall?
Too bad it's been such a slow news week. Too bad there are so many slow, idiotic people with nothing better to do than over-dramatize a drama queen.
PS, I did alter the Farcebook remarks but would you have been surprised if I said they were real?
