Janis pawns and Bullens begs...

I try not to spend much time on Facebook, but I did notice these two items...

First, it's Bullens using her account to try and scrounge gigs. From who? From hapless fans with no connections? Pretty pathetic...

She's a road warrior who ran out of road, huh? She gets a few idiot remarks, a greedhead demand for a new album, and vague hints. Great.

BUT...what if she had a record label behind her? Things might be different. But there's no record labels anymore...just a few corporations that sign the biggest names and to hell with the rest. Cindy (now she calls herself by a masculine surname...don't ask, don't tell) could still be selling 50,000 or 100,000 records, putting a tour together for a month or two, and having a decent life. She can't. Times have fucking changed.

So, Seniormole, Hans, Mephisto and the rest of you smug assholes...social media's supposed to be the answer? Look at what Bullens got on Facebook!

Music should be free and let the artist tour? Why isn't it working out, fuckheads? You, who used your blogs and forums to steal the music, and denied it was stealing, just "Freedom of Speech." You who ignorantly shrugged and figured there "must be a new paradigm." That paradigm is what, starvation? You drones with your government jobs or social security checks and pensions for living head down in a hive somewhere.

Now here's Janis...who does tour. She could mount a tour anytime. She has no major label but she can hire a manager to book dates based on her fame. Janis simply leaves her comfy home behind, staya in fucking hotels, never gets a good night's sleep, spend hours in transit, and then goes to the small venue housing 200 or so lesbians and old folkies...and sings her hits. BUT....even with that income, SHE IS PAWNING A GUITAR to pay for a project she wants to work on:

No, her royalties for "At Seventeen" aren't much, if everybody's stealing the music and throwing it around and only a few pay for a song on iTunes or Amazon.

I could post more of this. It affects new bands, not just road warriors and older acts who don't have hits anymore. I could name some pretty famous bands who end up barely breaking even on tour...even as the crowd calls out for more.

You'd want to write Facebook posts like Janis and Bullens? Wouldn't you feel humiliated? Degraded? But this is what entertainers have to do now...writers promoting their books because their publishers won't, singers Tweeting about gigs because there's no radio stations or talk shows who'll have them. Anyone from Andy Pratt to Yoko Ono...they're all out there like beggars with cups, using "social media" and failing! What's the attitude? Fuck you, go sell a t-shirt, lower your prices, we don't give a shit...give us your book, song or movie FREE because "Freedom of Speech" means copyright is copywrong and we're entitled to everything for nothing...

Uncreative seniormole morons don't get it. In fact they are so deep in their jealousy and resentment of creative people, they get some sadistic pleasure in stealing from them, and feeling superior, and throwing a dime in a street musician's cup or being "charitable" and deigning to go to a concert or buy a download once in a while.

Who the fuck wants to go on Facebook asking, "anybody out there know where I can play?"

Who the fuck wants to find out the answer is four lousy responses, none of them any good?
