Whatever Happened to "FUNNY?"

Christ, the "late night" comedy world is so glaringly unfunny. I mean, you expect sitcoms to suck, and you can't possibly think you'll laugh if you go to a movie starring drippy Adam Sandler, or oafish Will Ferrell. But "late night" is supposed to be where you either get intelligent but light amusement (vintage Johnny Carson) or "edgy" stuff that still helped you get to bed (vintage David Letterman).

Jon Stewart is a face-making sourball. Colbert's been a pseudo-intellectual bore for years with his raised eyebrows and his NPR-level smirking. As uncomfortably crappy as "The Office" was in the British version, it was just more obnoxious via the mummified Carell. He vaulted to fame as the star of the extremely dull "40 Year-old Virgin" which got its biggest laughs by having the guy get his chest hair painfully waxed off.

THIS is supposed to be funny?

Three ordinary, if not downright ugly jackasses taking off the shirts and pretending to be topless models with sex appeal? Oh, ho ho ho ho ho ho.

Any three nitwit office workers could've done this and posted it to Instagram. All it would've gotten was a few secretaries rolling their eyes in chagrin.

"It's not funny, I tell you, it's NOT FUNNY..."

Oh, for the days of Peter, Harry and Spike.
