A comedy show where some slob electrician, key grip or "best boy" gets paid...but NOT the creative people in front of the camera!
Right. You guessed it. The attitude is, "You're getting a CREDIT...you're getting to be on TELEVISION, so that's payment enough..."
There's always an excuse. Piracy means nobody buys. The Internet's wide world of social media, video games and free blogs and YouTube means nobody has a budget. Blah blah blah.
It comes down to the disdain and jealousy people have for anyone creative. Whether it's Hans Demented or Zinfuck or Chris-Sucks-Sock or Mephistobitch, it's always been, "Grrr, the talented people are adored, and admired...but what if I steal their stuff and give it away? Then I'll be adored and admired..."
And: "You bastard, YOU can think up something funny and people will laugh. So, FUCK YOU, you won't get paid! You'll do it anyway...but I sure wouldn't check the lighting in a studio for free, or sweep the floor, or edit a reel of video tape to get it down to the right time...so pay ME and not YOU!"
Ain't it funny...you can't even PAY these scumbags to let you perform...you have to jump through hoops, and go on cattle calls, and maybe PAY night after night in various clubs to be discovered...and STILL not get anywhere. Gosh, maybe you should have somebody record your act and put it on YouTUBE for free...
