"Poor Blind Bono"

Interesting, that in this age of no privacy, and constant media scrutiny, "the real reason" Bono wears obnoxious sunglasses never saw the light of day.

It took, what, bad publicity in foisting an album onto everyone's computers? With Bono-haters rising, and his arrogant deal of a "free" album that was actually paid for by Apple, suddenly he wants the world to know "the real reason" for the sunglasses.

You mean that no chatty fruit-case before Graham Norton ever asked? NOBODY in 20 years of interviews ever asked? Sure they did. Bono told 'em to fuck off. Now he needs some way to make people feel sorry for him:

Sometimes I feel sorry I didn't become a professor. First off, I'd have tenure and be retired by now...or be teaching a reduced schedule of a few classes, while getting full salary. But secondly, I'd be teaching courses in things like "Spin Doctoring," and showing how the media is manipulated, and how it manipulates others.

Lies, convenient truths (how long ago was he diagnosed with glaucoma, and who is providing medical records to prove it), and white lies...are all a part of every day newspapers. Remember when Michael Jackson turned white? He conveniently pretended it was caused by vitiligo. Yes, he did have some minor vitiligo, which nobody EVER noticed (where was it, around his sphincter?). But it didn't turn his WHOLE body white. Yet he wouldn't even say "I had procedures to even out my skin color." He pretended it was all the result of a skin condition. He also would never admit to all those plastic surgeries, claiming he only had one procedure when his nose got broken. Or something like that.

Inconvenient truths and convenient lies and even more convenient reveals of partial facts...it's all part of the fun and entertainment of the daily news.
