The Williams Sisters: The Truth is Insensitive

The "inconvenient truth" in the Williams case (mentioned below) is that what the Russian coach said in jest may have been insensitive, but it sure was the truth.

Now that the story's been around a while, the Daily Fail picked up on it, and I think you MIGHT say that they have done a not-too-subtle job of slanting the story in the Russian's favor.

The coach said the "Williams Brothers" were "scary."

OK, the Daily Fail chose a side by side image that...well, see for yourself. Does Serena look like a transsexual in a bad wig?

Nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more. Except, let's see the Daily Fail's image of the other sister, Venus. Does this person look scary? Look like a man? Or at least, look like some voodoo witch about to throw a hellacious spell on you?

There's always a good question on whether looks should be part of the equation. Do you mention that the mayor of London looks like a demented yak with his deliberately messy hair? How about Prince Charles and his jug ears? How about New Jersey's obese and slobby governor Chris Christie? How about all the unflattering pictures of Hillary Clinton because a female politician is still expected to look sexy? How about the pro wrestlers and MMA fighters who deliberately grimace to look even uglier?

So, ok, it's impolite to do the emperor has no clothes bit, and to say that two powerfully-built black sisters look mannish and scary. But it's true.

You can't take away the other truth...that the Williams sisters changed the face of tennis, have tons of money and championships, and got people used to seeing gigantic blacks on the court.

Are Americans complaining that the Williams sisters have kept the USA the nation with most championship wins? I think not. Without them, America would look like any second rate nation, like Italy, like Argentina, with one or two chicks who are lucky to reach the semi-finals. Americans might wish that the Serena looked like Chrissie Evert, a typical all-American, but that's not the face of America anymore, so accept it.

As Kim Kardashian has done, Serena Williams has also changed the concept of beauty for a lot of people. Despite being a professional athlete, Serena's got an enormous ass and huge rubbery boobs, too. It does make her a caricature, like some guy in ridiculous drag, but that femme-fat is ALL hers. Once you're used to ethnic features, it's no big deal either. Lots of guys see Serena on the court and think, "I'd tap that." And Serena would think, "How'd you like to eat a tennis racket?" The woman can stand up for herself, and she has...calling the coach's remarks sexist and racist. Which they would be if they weren't true. So call them unsportsmanlike and ungentlemanly. And we are talking tennis...one of the last sports that you are supposed to watch in SILENCE so the players can concentrate. That's a gentleman's game. And a lady's game, too.

The good news is that America is going to easily be one third white...TWO thirds Black and Latino, so there will be many more "women of color" in tennis in the future. These minorities will in fact demand free tennis lessons and clinics and get 'em, so it won't be a "white girl" sport in America. In Europe? It's possible there will be continued domination from the genocidal Russian Federation...as Putin doesn't allow "women of color" into Russia, and neither do the Czechs, Croats or the others. Otherwise? Great Britain, France, Germany...they might have a few African imports playing for their assorted flags...but that'll depend on whether the Muslims allow it. Muslims are a stern bunch, and what they say goes. If they say Allah doesn't approve of women wearing short skirts and playing tennis, then stop it or DIE.

Tennis was a harmless, amusing sport to watch...20 years ago. Now it's become a cauldron of outright dykes, angry minorities, ethnic rivalries...and maybe one or two hot babes who always lose in the opening round. Hoping for another Kournikova or Hingis? Dream on. The nightmare of "scary" is what you'll get.
