WTF - What, the FOGHAT?

I was checking Twitter to see what kind of remarks fellow comedians were leaving about the sudden death of Garry Shandling.

OK, nobody was exactly profound, not Steve Martin, not Ricky Gervais, not putty-nosed Judd Apatow. There were also the usual assholes promoting their YouTube links. Some fanboy clods were knocking out lines they hoped might get picked up by lazy newspaper websites copying off fan reaction. And there was THIS.

Huh? Faggot? Really?

When was the last time anyone ever mentioned them? 1978?

Gosh, nice to know the "official" Twitter feed for fuckin' FOGHAT is on top of things. What did they do? They posted a link to Rolling Stone, and parroted the usual bland blabber about "our thoughts are with his family & friends."

I can guarantee his family and friends are not turning to Foghat records for comfort.

Christ, there's a smell of opportunism about this, but I haven't checked their Tweets to see if they do this constantly or not. Put it this way, when Garry starred in his "Larry Sanders" parody of talk shows, he booked a lot of rock stars to be musical guests, including Tom Petty, Warren Zevon, Colin Haye and Elvis Costello. Not Foghat.
