Pissing Streams - Is Blocking the Dicks Going to Work?

They piss on copyright owners.

They gush TORRENTS of FREEEEEEEEE downloads and streaming programs to their yipping yapping fans who cheer "Don't let the bastards win."

But...is it possible the world is finally going to "ruin" their "fun?"

The bad news here is I never even heard of the two sites mentioned. And the article doesn't talk about the most notorious torrent sites, either.

But this IS a step forward. It might signify that people remember when BUYING the stuff assured some degree of quality.

What has piracy done? It's given us lousy "reality" TV shows, cheaply done music albums, badly researched books and overblown superhero movies and cartoons aimed at kiddies. That's because nobody can afford anything but cheap shit or sure-thing bores that involve some asshole in a silly costume.

Maybe some governments are beginning to understand that a weak entertainment industry means less taxes and a lousier economy, in addition to people finding other things to do, like texting and Tweeting.

It would be nice if logic and common sense prevailed. In the real world, a cop sees some bitch lounging in a hallway, and says, "Move along, whore." Or, stands in front of her making sure nobody approaches for business. Or, follows her when she gets a customer and busts them both. In the real world, security guards follow shoplifters. In the real world, the tax man says, "You're paying an extra thousand unless you can prove my calculations are wrong. You got 30 days."

So why should the fucking Internet, now thriving and putting stores out of business, killing the post office, and being the prime force in social media, still be treated as untouchable? Why not block an ISP until that ISP can show that it's got permission from copyright owners? Enough with the "we're just a venue" defense. That was ok, maybe, 20 years ago. NOT NOW.

20 years ago (to this day) Amazon turned up. Now they are the Hitler of online shopping. Just as Google is the Hitler of search engines and blogs and GooTube. Just as Ebay is the Hitler of auction selling. Is it too much to ask that these sites take illegal activity seriously? Or that ISPs can block obvious and abusive websites?

Most every government has shut down a notorious website or two, and replaced it with a stern warning that the site was taken down due to illegal activity. MORE of that. Where's the United Nations on this? How is it a few malcontent scumbags like the Pirate Bay Swedish Meatballs or Kim Dotcom can line their pockets to this very day? Do they really have lobbyists? They're bribing people to look the other way?
