He Nags Again - After 15 years Don Henley returns

Anyone throwing a Hen party over this?

It's been 15 years since Don Henley's last album (which wasn't too interesting).

His new one is being flogged already (it'll be released in late September) and two tracks are on Vevo / Gootube.

"That Old Flame" is so predictable with its chugging beat and limited melody...like some outtake from Bob Seger or the near-death Roy Orbison. He swaps forgettable lyrics with Martina McBride, a less-than-distinctive country vocalist with very little personality. But if you're trying to present yourself as a C&W artist, yeah, go ahead. And that's what Don is up to, now.

"Take a Picture of This" isn't exactly catchy on first listen. To say something good about it, Henley's high-pitched headache voice isn't as scratchy as it once was. Maybe he had one of those operations to remove a node or two. He still has a very naggy singing style, mostly because he's pushing at high notes that are almost out of his range.

Henley is also ready to compete in a Ricky Gervais look-alike contest. Go get 'em, Don.
