Graven Images...that happen to be Dumb

The worship of false idols? The idolizing of ridiculous shit?

In the 21st Century, it's all too common. While we laugh at the ISIS bunch, and the Christians with their crucified Son of God around their necks, and other religions that have people pray to chunks of plastic or metal with gaudy rocks on 'em, how about...memorabilia buffs?

What the FUCK is THIS?

If I didn't see the ad and that card, I wouldn't have known who this GOOFY LOOKING GUY was supposed to be!

IT doesn't even fuckin' look like NUMBER SIX.

How old is this show? Over 40 years?

How DEAD is this guy? VERY.

How NOT like the actor is this dopey replica? It looks more like Roger Moore after eating bad clams.

Yet some nerd is going to buy this thing and put it on a shelf, or maybe even buy a glass case to put it in, and stare at it, and show it off to friends, and do everything short of praying to it.

Keeeeerist.

Isn't this pathetic?

I understand a certain amount of idolatry. You buy a CD or a book. You get it autographed. OK.

If you can afford it, maybe you get a fine painting, or even some kind of "piece of history" item like the fucking "ruby slippers" Judy Garland wore in "The Wizard of Oz."

I can sort of understand wanting to hold an exact replica of the ridiculous Maltese Falcon that Sam Spade and his friends were killing each other over.

But ACTION FIGURES? Little dolls? Plastic models of a space ship from a movie? Shit that is manufactured in bulk and stamped on an assembly line? Even if it's a "limited edition" there are HUNDREDS of 'em. And most of that shit looks SO stupid.

Little kids play with dolls and collect toys. GROW THE FUCK UP!
