Silly-named Assholes in forums, like "Seniormole," insisted the new paradigm was SPOTIFY. Yeah. The cure to illegal downloading is a fucking Internet radio site where you either pay for a subscription, or listen free and let commercials pay the royalties. Ha ha ho ho hee hee.
SPOTIFY is even worse than the RIAA, major record labels, corrupt disc jockeys, managers, agents, publishers, ASCAP/BMI and the rest of the SUITS combined. Artists were discovering that they'd get 10,000 plays of a song on Spotify and get chump change. Spotify became flooded with amateur morons paying-to-play, signing up with "agents" who place songs for a fee, a fee larger than Spotify's royalties.
To get the perspective of the continuing plight of artists dealing with the music biz, go to THETRICHORDIST. The latest post there is about our old friends at SPOTTY PIE.
It seems a "deal" was worked out, with muddies the waters, gives no guarantee of decent payment, and involves the sleazy cartel called Harry Fox Publishing, a company that somehow emerged as the power broker for songwriters.
The people who defend piracy, and Spotty Pie and the rest of the crap are always the pirates, the retired Dutch fuckheads, the grinning snorting Swedish meatballs who never wrote a song, and the vast army of ignorant or just plain nasty brats (of all ages) who use copyright as the whipping boy for their miseries in life. Get free movies, music and books and TV shows and life is suddenly fair.
