Oh, excuse me. Maybe I should say "killed by gunmen." How about "killed by Islamic extremists?" How about just, "prematurely retired by religious people who know the true meaning of life."
I doubt that outside France, anyone will be buying copies — magazine distribution being just another pokey problem in the dying (pardon the expression) publishing world. A free PDF version, maybe. That's the paradigm, Frenchies, you give the magazine away FREE but make money on ads. Except nobody would dare take out an ad in your mag. Oh well.
Let's see the not-THAT-brave cover. Chastened down the wind:
I would be as cowardly as they are, if I was the editor.
Instead of a picture of a MUSLIM, I'd make sure that the assassin looks more like a Mad Magazine version of Moses or Santa Claus.
The Charlie Hebdo office was not blasted by "religious fanatics." It was MUSLIMS. When you look around the world, you don't see much violence from the Jews. The Catholics. The Hindu. The Buddhists. It's THE MUSLIMS. But considering that these are crazy people, that's better left unsaid, right?
The other day, a MUSLIM with a machine gun took out a few Israelis. His Daddy actually apologized and said he had no idea how his kid became "radicalized." His Daddy apparently grew up in an area of Israel where Jews and Arabs live in peace. (Israel is what, 20% Muslim, and is also loaded every day with Christian tourists who wanna see where Jesus the Jew wandered).
Well, thanks, Daddy, but your brat turned out to be part of the problem: Muslims are apparently so stupid they can easily be pulled over the line from believing in their particular brand of shit (substitute Mohamed for Moses or Jesus or Buddha) to killing non-believers. If they killed Beliebers, that would be something else.
Good luck to Charlie Hebdo. An irony, not lost on the media, is that the Muslim attack was GOOD for business. Gosh, when they were merely being threatened by Muslims, this rather badly-drawn mag was on the verge of closing. It got new life after a dozen deaths. Allah works in wonderful ways.
