Many times a downloaded "goodie" you get from a torrent or forum comes with an extra special gift card.
It's a note from the uploader telling you to "support" him, and help him make royalties off his "hard work."
Here's an example:
Got that? This Asian-sounding guy (could easily be Russian, German, Swedish, and concealing his identity with an Asian name) puts in a lot of hard work stealing stolen files for HIS website (or blog). While SOME uploaders ask you to do a Paypal "tip jar" donation, this kindly soul merely asks you to buy a premium account from professional thieves. He'll get his extra royalty from THEM.
From the very first days of "The Blogfather," people would fawn, drool and sob, "We are unworthy! You are SO kind to SHARE!" They never realized that it was really a business, as much as a neurotic, anti-social game played by losers.
This time of year? Of course, of course:
Just a little sample from his website, which happily is among the many now dwarfing Zinfuck and some of the other old-timers. But whether it's Zinfuck, the Swedish meatball of Huddinge Hill, or these teenagers from Asia or Croatia or Russia or wherever, they all have the same Christmas message:
"Support us and our hard work. Tip us or buy a premium account so we can continue to save you money. The artists and the record companies and the people who work in the industry do not deserve royalties or support, but we do. God Bless Us, Every One!"
