Mourning is SO MUCH FUN

Hey kids! Go to Farcebook and play the "Make Your Face a French Flag" game!

"TRY IT!"

Yeah, you'll have a smile on your face in no time. Tell all your friends! Be the FIRST to do it and brag about it!

I get it; when something bad happens we feel helpless. Part of the grief process is anger, denial, and then...having some fun! Depending on the disaster, it could be a mass public protest, public funeral services, lighting candles at the crime scene, or Internet idiocy like Tweeting a slogan with a hashtag, or using some APP to mess with your Farcebook photos.

It seems to me that rather than ending violence, or saying "Never Again" we're opting to make death and disaster FUN.

Be creative about that "memorial t-shirt" you're selling on eBay.

See if YOU can get more LIKES than any of your friends for your catch-phrase and cry of R.I.P.

If you're a politician, see how much face time you can get by looking grim, looking angry, or coming up with a suitable line like, "This is a dark day" or "We won't rest until the people behind this are caught."

Nevermind putting in the necessary ways of stopping the madness: gun control, immigration control, legalized marijuana to keep the crazies medicated...

Wheee, turn your Farcebook photo into a solidarity image of the French flag.

Then shrug and say, "You know, maybe we should leave Syria alone, and in fact, not meddle in anything the Middle Eastern madmen do. Including female circumcision and high prices on hummus. Just leave THEM alone and they'll leave US alone. Nevermind that they think everyone should be Muslim, or that they'll only find an excuse for more terrorism."

Hey, have you seen those memorial candles with the circle around the Eiffel Tower, turning it into a peace symbol? Neat-o keen. And those will be real collectors items when the Muslims blow the Eiffel Tower up.
