TAYE DIGGS, who took over the lead role in Broadway's "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" and...is sinking the show.
It's closing thanks to him.

YES! That's it. Broadway fans just don't want to see a BLACK GUY play a role that was originated by a WHITE GUY WITH A GERMAN ACCENT.

Taye should be able to play Hamlet, too. Santa Claus. Little Orphan Annie. What a horrible world it is, that won't ignore COLOR or GENDER or NATIONALITY.
What next, reusing to let a Zulu play a white jockey in a horse racing drama? HOW UNFUCKING FAIR!
All seriousness aside, you KNOW what would happen if there was an all-white version of "Porgy and Bess" or "Raisin in the Sun."
The cries would be, "That's BLACK roles, and WHITES CAN'T PLAY THEM."
You may recall how Jann the Fag Wenner would allow his reviewers to call Janis Joplin, "The best WHITE blues singer..."
Today there's no way a Natalie Wood or Carol Lawrence could play "Maria" in "West Side Story." It MUST go to a real LATINA!

Too bad the "stunt casting" has failed. All I know is there's one type of "stunt casting" that the Hedwig bunch would never have allowed: for an actual WOMAN to play this role.
Of course NOT. How can a WOMAN possibly portray a drag queen?
Nevermind. We all know it's a mixed up muddled up shook up world, and common sense is a rare commodity.
