OK, by sheer numbers, they are. That doesn't mean they have to be arrogant, obnoxious insensitive shits, too.
There was NO fucking reason why British fight fans had to be up at 5 in the fucking morning to watch Liam Smith's fight with Alvarez.
In fact it was MIDNIGHT when the fight came on for the East Coast of the USA, which is also idiotic.
The idea was to get the most PAY-PER-VIEW sales in America, but people in California could've tuned in at 6pm, which is still sort of prime time or a good pre-dinner treat. New York would've gotten the fight at 9pm. The UK would've had it at the slightly more reasonable 2am for their Saturday night. What's wrong with that?
When one of the participants is British, and the CHAMPION, shouldn't his fans at least get to see the action live, with their mates, instead of wake up at 5 in the fucking morning for it, or set the timer and record it, to watch it first thing on a Sunday morning??
It wasn't just Liam Smith who was feeling worn out in the 7th, 8th and 9th round.
As Smith got bullied by a nasal-voiced muscle-bound red-headed freak, his Liverpool fans were exhausted, too. To his credit, Steve Cunts and his pals didn't exactly look bleary-eyed as they discussed the result, but they were being paid to nap all evening and be fresh at that ridiculous hour.
The arrogance of the USA is just unbelievable. When the situation is in reverse, of course, it's no big deal. A fight that takes place around Saturday night at 10pm in England is seen on American TV as an afternoon treat.
Nobody in America is inconvenienced, or lying flat, exhausted and grimacing and wanting to rest.
The fight card was an utter bore, with three long, forgettable fights that went the distance. The Alvarez-Smith fight should've gone on first. A little respect for a British champion? A little respect for HIS fans?
Oh, the pain...
